Tonya Marcuccio

Pilates

Tonya Marcuccio has taught various fitness regimens for the last nineteen years. Her experience includes teaching swimming as the head swim instructor at College of the Mainland, teaching at the KIP Program for HISD, working with astronauts, professional athletes, as well as teaching home school fitness programs.

Over ten years ago, she began to study Pilates and has worked with notable Pilates training instructors including the program thru Balanced Body designed by Elizabeth Larkum (a world renowned Pilates expert and pioneer in bringing both fitness and rehabilitation into the world of Pilates). As a certified Pilates instructor for The PhysicalMind Institute, she has studied under John Gossett, Pilates master trainer and international presenter, and worked with three of the Pilates Elders as a part of her continuing improvement.

Tonya is also trained through Reebok in the technique of contract-relax stretching. She is currently working on her degree as a Kinesiologist, on her way to being a physical therapist. Tonya has been certified through the American Council on Exercise as a personal trainer, AFFA as a group exercise instructor, PhysicalMind the first curriculum led certification for Pilates.

Additionally, she is the director of P.I.N.E., a Christian musical theater organization, has three children, and a wonderful husband that supports her every step of the way.
