Sunday, April 22nd is our Pre-Registration day for current students for Fall and Summer Classes from 2-5pm. Registration opens to the public the following Tuesday.

Saturday, April 21st is our Ballet Demonstration and Company Concert at Friendswood’s First Baptist Church! Students should arrive at 5:30pm and the performance will start at 6pm and be followed by a dessert reception! Tickets are available at the front desk. Please purchase them today and avoid the line on Saturday at the door. For more details see Offerings note on the “Classes” page.

Each child will be getting evaluations from their teachers as well as our summer and fall schedules this week. Schedules are also available for viewing on the Classes page of our web site. Please register on Sunday, April 22nd from 2-4pm at the studio.

Chara will be holding a Spring Break Dance n’ Day Camp the week of March 12th for ages 3-12! Kids can participate for either a half day or full day. Activities include morning devotionals, crafts, musical theater and hip hop dance classes, a water day and MORE! We highly encourage students to register THIS WEEK so we can get a head count. If you are thinking about auditioning for your drill team either this spring or in the next couple of years we HIGHLY encourage you to take our drill team prep class. Classes are on Friday evenings in the month of March. You will be focusing on leaps, turns and choreography to help you succeed in your audition. The class is taught by Chelsea Dowden, former Wranglerette and SFA Pom Squad Captain. You can register for the class online or in person.

Parent Observation Week is February 6th-11th! During this week, you are welcome to come to the last 30 minutes of your child’s dance class(es) to observe the progress they are making this year. If your child is in a 45 minute long class, please plan on observing the last 15 minutes of the class.  This observation week is for classes that started in the fall only. Spring Mini-mester classes will hold theirs later this spring.

Chara Performance Company will be hosting a Valentine’s Party for all students and their friends ages 3 and up on Saturday, February 11th from 6-9pm. There will be games, pizza, cupcakes and a BOUNCE HOUSE! Admission is $25 and $15 for each sibling. Register at the front desk or online!

Students from Chara Christian Dance Company at Texas A&M University will be here for a Master Class this Saturday from 11:15-12:45pm. Grace and Mattie Hawkins (former Friendswood Wranglerettes) and Kirsten Hartman (Chara Dance summer instructor) will be teaching a contemporary jazz dance to intermediate and advanced dancers ages 10 and up. The cost for the class is $25 and you can register by going to http://charadance.com. We HIGHLY encourage this master class if you are interested in drill team or Chara Performance Company!

Calling all Dads! Take your dancing daughter on a date on Friday, February 10th where both of you will learn a special dance to Steven Curtis Chapman’s CINDERELLA! Cake balls and lemonade will be served. Fathers and daughters have the opportunity to perform this dance in our May recital!
